Topic: Client's Quickbooks Financial Statements to Tax Return - A roadmap for clean up

Your client's Quickbooks financials are a mess when they submit them to you for their tax return. Some items are duplicated; some are on the wrong statement; some are just plain wrong! Sound familiar? How do you clean it up so you can do an accurate tax return? We will look at both the income statement and balance sheet; review what should be on the statements, what shouldn't be on them, and how to clean them up. We will take some actual statements and walk through the steps to correct them, so you can prepare an accurate return.

Presenters:

Linda Dong, EA, ABA
Linda Dong graduated with honors from the University of Illinois in Chicago with a degree in Accounting. She worked for the IRS, where she received a very thorough training in taxes and began auditing corporations. She grew her practice to include 4 employees, but eventually downsized, and is now again a sole practitioner working out of her home. She provides tax and accounting services to individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.Linda has been an Enrolled Agent (EA) licensed by the Department of the Treasury since 1982. Her credentials from the Accreditation Council of Accountancy and Taxation include: Accredited Business Accountant (ABA) and Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA). She is a Quickbooks ProAdvisor and frequently teaches classes in accounting and tax to other tax professionals. A member of several tax and accounting professional groups, she is currently serving as Treasurer of the Wine Country Chapter of the California Society of Tax Consultants.
