Description:

In this session, we will be covering a wide range of areas such as California Tax Tables, Residency, Filing requirements, Conformity, Illegal activities, Current issues, and Future issues, etc. Also, this will dive into the New Tax Laws for Individuals and Business. We encourage open discussion among attendees as we look at the new tax laws for individuals and business. We will cover Income, Adjustments, Deductions, Taxes, Credits, Other Taxes, Employers, and Miscellaneous Items. Time will be set aside for questions and answers.

Presenter(s):

Marc Narlesky, CPA, Technical Assistant to the Advocate in the Franchise Tax Board's Taxpayers Rights Advocate's Office.
Marc started with the FTB in 1989, He worked as an Auditor and Reviewer. He has held staff positions for divisional budgeting as well as acting as a business lead for FTB's Activity Based Costing project where he learned the operations of the department. Marc's professional experience began in public accounting. He has worked in general practice with a multi-service firm and as a financial auditor of non-profit organizations. In 1992 he earned his Certified Public Accountant and graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and a minor in Industrial Technology.

Claudia Stanley, CPA, EA
Claudia Stanley is a practicing CPA & EA in the Fresno area, as a partner in C. Stanley, CPA & Associates. She is a graduate of California State University, Fresno, and serves as a treasurer of the California Society of Tax Consultants, as education chair of the California Chapter of Enrolled Agents and as treasurer of Fresno's local chapter of American Business Women's Association. Claudia is a long time member of CSTC. In 2016 she was named member of the year of the Central Valley Chapter of CSTC and in 2001 she was named one of Top Ten Women of the Year in the nation by American Business Women's Association. She frequently speaks on various tax topics.
