Topic:

The Franchise Tax Board’s California Tax Law Updates will discuss how the Taxpayers’Rights Advocate’s Office can assist with California tax issues. We will provide updates on legislative matters and other current tax topics. In addition, we will review information and tips on how to best communicate with FTB.

Victoria Ramirez, Technical Advisor to the Advocate Taxpayers' Rights Advocate's Office
Victoria Ramirez has been with Franchise Tax Board (FTB) for over four years and works as a technical advisor to FTB's Taxpayer Advocate solve taxpayers’ and tax professionals’ complex and sensitive tax inquiries. Prior to joining the Taxpayers' Rights Advocate's Office in June 2022, Victoria worked in FTB’s Public Affairs Office for two years where she communicated with the media to share tax news and tips with the public and responded to sensitive media inquiries. She also has experience as a tax auditor with FTB’s Individual & Pass-Through Entity Audit division.

Prior to joining FTB, Victoria was a tax manager in a public accounting firm and specialized in the taxation of pass-through entities and real estate investment partnerships. Victoria also represented the State of California in 2022 as a member of the IRS’ Taxpayer Advocacy Panel where she volunteered her time to improve IRS services and customer experience. Victoria holds a Master’s Degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University, Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Spanish, and a CPA license.
