Topic:

Many times, the tax professional is one of the first to find out that a client has died. You have worked for years to establish a relationship with clients and their families while preparing their taxes, books, and providing tax advice. Then the call comes informing you that a client has passed away. What do you do next? What is your role as a tax professional? What other roles can you serve in? What other professionals are needed to settle the estate or trust? How can you help the family meet their legal obligations? This class will discuss what happens now that a client has died and the tax professional's role in the Trust Administration process and the Probate process.
