Topic:

We have clients who are not eligible for a Social Security Number (SSN), so they will need to get an Individual Identification Number (ITIN). However, they are not the same as SSNs. In this seminar we will review the differences between an SSN and ITIN. We will review the process and documents required to obtain an ITIN. Unlike SSNs, ITINs also expire. We will go over when ITINs expire and the process to renew them. Also ,there are identification number issues when it comes to adopting children.
Our learning objectives of this course includes:
1. How to apply for an ITIN.
2. How to identify when an ITIN will expire.
3. How to renew an ITIN.
4. Differences with SSNs.

Mr. Pon is a Certified Public Accountant, Personal Financial Specialist, Certified Financial Planner, Enrolled Agent, United States Tax Court Practitioner, and Accredited Estate Planner in Redwood Shores, CA.Mr. Pon has been in practice since 1986 and enjoys helping his clients reach their financial goals. He frequently speaks on tax and financial planning topics.Mr. Pon received his BS in Business Administration with emphases in Accounting and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley and MS in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
