Date/Time:

Location:

Topic:

As preparers, one of the most valuable services we can provide to clients is offering tax planning. The preparation of tax returns only offers a few methods in which to lower a client's tax liability. And with the improving technology, preparers will need to develop new ways to stand out from the DIY tax prep industry. During this course, we will:
1. Discuss tax reduction strategies for individuals and retirees.
2. Learn techniques on how to identify tax-saving opportunities on the 1040.
3. Discuss how TCJA and the Secure Act affect tax planning strategies.

Presenter:

David Hilliard, EA, NTPI Fellow
David graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2001 with a degree in Animal Health Science. After 20 years of developing into an expert equestrian and entertaining millions, he made the natural transition to the tax industry in 2009. David brings with him over 25 years of management and customer service experience. He has a passion for defending taxpayer rights with a no-nonsense approach and representing clients in front of the IRS and other government agencies. Driven by his eagerness to serve, David has volunteered to hold many positions with the state and local chapters of the California Society of Enrolled Agents. Currently, he serves as the President of CSEA and is the Immediate Past President of the Orange County Chapter. When he is not acting in his leadership capacity in the professional world, he loves to spend time with his wife (Patricia), 3 kids (Ella, Melody, and Wyatt), and golden retriever (Montana).
