Topic:

Tax practitioners should know how to treat their tax clients’ tax and sales requirements of Employee Stock Purchase Plans and Restricted Stock Units. This is a primer on the terms, differences, calculations of these employee stocks as well as defining, qualifying, and disqualifying dispositions and how it affects taxes.

The attendees will learn the basics of different employee stock plans: NQSO - Non-Qualified Stock Option, ISO - Incentive Stock Option, RSU - Restricted Stock Unit, ESPP - Employee Stock Purchase Plans
Identify key mistakes to avoid when preparing tax returns for clients with employee stock. Watch-Out and Pitfalls.

Be able to have a discussion to explain the tax implications for clients with employee stock.

Mike is an Enrolled Agent and has been in the tax preparation business for nearly 40 years. He is the owner of Michael A. Tullio Financial Services, located on Mission Gorge Road in San Diego California. Mike up until recently was a Senior Tax Content Analyst at Intuit, makers of Turbo Tax, ProSeries, and Lacerte. He is an Enrolled Agent. He is a member of the National Society of Tax Preparers (NSTP) and a member of the California Society Tax Consultants (CSTC).
